11 Sites to Find WAH Job Leads

Work from home companies

David Nevala Photography/UpperCut Images/Getty Images

Timing is an important aspect of any job search. Getting your resume or application in front of the right person (or even at the right company) at the right time can make all the difference. Of course, unless you have an inside contact at a company, it’s hard to know when it’s hiring.

Locating multiple sources of fresh job leads can help you find out when companies have open positions. Now, you could troll the Internet and/or Craigslist to find job leads yourself, but that is very time consuming and probably unnecessary, given what’s available on the Internet.

Since my focus is work-at-home jobs. I’ve put together some links to (mostly) free daily job leads blogs and websites that specialize in telecommuting and freelance jobs.

Work-at-Home Job Leads

Bookmark this page and come back to it regularly. But remember these job leads aren’t pre-screened, so know the signs of a work-at-home scam .

  1. Rat Race Rebellion – Daily job leads here run the gamut, but a lot are home call center companies.
  2. Telecommute Job List – This site segments itself into lists for legal, accounting, writing, Internet/web design, medical jobs from home.
  3. Work at Home Space – These are all pretty much Craigslist posting, but this makes it a lot easier than searching multiple cities’ listings.
  4. FlexJobs – This service posts decent telecommuting gigs, but it is not free so read the FlexJobs review first to decide if it’s right for – These are mostly entry-level writing jobs, but you’ll find translation and search engine evaluation job leads here as Telecommuting – This popular careers website is sorted by telecommuting jobs; to narrow it to your field, choose additional search terms for your industry.
  5. Jobs.jobs – Major companies use the .jobs domain to advertise open positions.
  6. FWJ Freelance Writing Jobs – As the name implies, this one specialized in jobs for writers, editors and bloggers. It is updated daily.
  1. WAHJobLeads – The opportunities on this board are culled from a variety of sources. It isn’t updated daily, though.
  2. Non Phone Jobs – Crowdsourcing. online teaching. data entry and search evaluation are among the types of positions on this site. Entries aren’t dated so it’s tough to know how fresh they are unless you’re a regular visitor.
  3. The Work at Home Journal – Though this site is updated frequently, not everything it lists are job leads, but sometimes they are companies that hire telecommuters regularly.

Work-at-Home Companies

However, one problem with published lists of daily job leads can be that many other people see them too, making the competition tougher. So while browsing job leads in your field may be important, pinpointing a company that may hire you to work from home and checking its job listings periodically is important as well. So also check out this list of more than 200 companies with work-at-home jobs. and scroll down for links to list of these WAH companies divided by industry or see this index of work-at-home job lists .

Unlike the above links, the companies listed in the links below may not necessarily be hiring at this time. However, they are known to directly hire telecommuters on a regular basis, so check back often if you a company you’re interested in.

Forex trading training

There are many Forex education systems on the market, but many, if not most, are created by individual traders looking for a platform from which to share their ideas. Many, if not most, are lacking the finesse and technical capacity to transform a collection of articles into a truly comprehensive and interactive Forex learning experience. FX Academy was introduced by and was developed by a team of professionals in the fields of research, finance and education.

Rob has built his own proprietary indicator named “fire lines”, the precise calculation of which is not revealed. “Fire lines” are price levels at which a lot of significant intraday activity can be expected – in other words, key levels of support or resistance. As well as offering potentially lowest risk, highest reward trading opportunities, the position of the lines can be used to determine not only the best areas at which to seek to enter trades, but also whether the current day is more likely to see the price mostly rising or falling.

The Forex Trading Coach

Forex trading training

As its name suggests, The Forex Trading Coach is a course that differs dramatically from most other Forex courses we’ve reviewed. For starters, it is not run by a big institution or a group of traders. The mastermind behind the website is Andrew Mitchem, known by his students as The Forex Trading Coach. Mr. Mitchem developed the course entirely on his own, and he continues to run it independently, relating to each student personally and providing personalized help when necessary.

There are a lot of defining characteristics that differentiate the Forex market from its counterparts. Some of these unique traits are positive and make FX a highly attractive investment for the individual trader, while others are less positive and make the Forex trading arena a dangerous one. However, this danger only exists if the trader does not prepare themselves in advance using one of the many tools available, such as the one we will mention below, the eToro Forex Matador e-course.

Market Traders Institute

Forex trading training

While hundreds of Forex courses exist, many are shallow or one-dimensional, focusing on a specific aspect of Forex trading. Once in a while, however, a Forex course emerges which approaches Forex trading as a discipline, not just a hobby. Market Traders Institute is one such company. Headed by Jared Martinez, a widely recognized Forex expert, Market Traders Institute offers a range of Forex courses suited to traders at all levels.

Forex School Online

Forex trading training

Forex School Online is a Forex course that has carved a unique place for itself in the saturated market, by focusing on the specific aspect of Forex trading known as price action trading. We actually found this singular focus to be refreshing, as many new traders fail to find the proper trading strategy because they get confused between their options or mix up different strategies entirely.

Top binary options brokers

General Risk Warning: The financial services provided by these websites carry a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all your funds. You should never invest money that you cannot afford to lose.

Over the last several years, binary options trading has grown from a small, obscure section of the market to a huge, respected, and profitable form of trading. There are still some brokers out there that are behind the times, though, and these should be avoided. Either they will improve their services to meet current trends and needs, or they will fade away. It’s a far better use of your time to just pick a better broker .

That’s where we come in

As we go from 2016 into 2017, it’s important that we are aware of where binary options, brokers, and the state of trading in general are at, and that we have a good idea where things will be going in the near future. One of the biggest features that has changed over the years, are the amount of signal services that are provided, as well as all the mobile trading applications that are available. Let’s take a quick look at these things so that you can help position yourself to make more money than ever over the coming months.

General Risk Warning: The financial services provided by these websites carry a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all your funds. You should never invest money that you cannot afford to lose.

What To Look For?

You want to choose a top binary options broker. This is the best way to help yourself succeed. Even a great trader can lose money if they don’t have a great site on their side. That extra couple of percentage points when it comes to rates of return, the increased freedom in asset choice, and the specialized exotic options all contribute toward giving you a better chance of making money. If you trade $100,000 per year, and can increase your profit rate by 2 percent, you’ve suddenly made an extra $2,000 per year–just by picking a better site.

Below, we’ve listed a few of the most highly respected brokers and outline what it is that is good about them, what’s not, and who they will benefit the most. We’ll break down the reviews into three main groups: deposits, demo trading, and customer service.

We Think 24Option is the Best in the Business

24Option has been at the forefront of the binary industry for a few years now. As they expand their product line, 24Option maintains this ranking. They have recently added a third party trading alerts section that allows you to receive a signal service like recommendation on what to trade and when. They also offer mobile trading. They are CySEC regulated. and have a great reputation within the EU.

24Option Deposit Options

The minimum deposit here is $250, although U.S. customers are currently not allowed because of CySEC regulations. Deposits can be implemented almost immediately and within 3-5 days you can receive your withdrawal upon full account verification. All information is encrypted and kept private. You can deposit with a wire transfer, a credit card, or through some online wallets.

Demo Trading with 24Options

24Option does have a demo trading account available, but you will need to special request it from customer service. They tend to stay open for only 72 hours. It’s not much time, but it’s enough to get a feel for the site and their software.

Customer Service

24Option places a heavy emphasis on trader support. Without their traders, they don’t have a business, and their philosophy shows this mindset. There are three main ways to contact customer service: phone, email, or direct online chat. Online chat is probably the fastest way to address any issues that you have, although phone and email can often provide more in depth answers to your questions.

Binary Options Robot

Binary Options Robot is the most well known of the automated trading services that have begun to appear in the world of binary options trading. This has given them a good foothold in the market, but it’s important that we remember that there’s a really good reason why Binary Options Robot has become so widely used: it is a strong and reliable tool. The big question for you is whether or not this service will be a helpful one for you as you look to grow your money.

Multiple Deposit Choices

The minimum initial deposit at Binary Options Robot depends on the broker that you decide to use. Most of them require at least $250. You can make a deposit with a credit card, of course. Or you can use a wire transfer from your bank or a few different online wallets. When you make your initial deposit, there are no fees added on. That money goes into your trading account, and once your settings are adjusted, you’re ready to start trading.

Mobile Trading is Available

Binary Options Robot now has a mobile app available. This will let you monitor your account while you’re on the go. Yes, one of the benefits of an automated trading tool is that you don’t need to monitor things constantly, but being able to make adjustments when you’re out can be a very valuable feature. The mobile app is a great addition to the most popular binary options trading robot, making it even more user friendly.

Customer Service Works Well

Binary Options Robot has a great customer service team. If you need help with something, you can call or chat with them online. Online chat is fast and efficient if you need assistance, but you can use phone or email, too.

HOW TO: Find the best broker

Each person will have different needs when it comes to a broker. Before you begin your search, decide what you want to trade, the timeframes over which you’ll trade it, and your basic amounts. Next, find a place that caters to traders in your area. meets all of your requirements, and has high rates of return. This will give you a basic framework for starting your search. Avoid sites that are gimmicky or have unfavorable conditions for their traders. These might not be outright scams. but they are certainly not there to help you make money. There’s a difference between running their business and swindling you out of your cash. Make sure you read about our blacklisted brokers .

HOW TO: Be a better trader

Start with the tools you have readily available. Some places have signals services. some have demo trading, and the vast majority of them have educational resources. Some even have trading advisors and managers to help you get your trading to the next level. If you’re offered bonuses and the terms are favorable, take advantage of them when you can. Getting a little extra help, either by increasing your knowledge, getting extra money, or just having a better rate of return will all help you keep increasing the size of your account. There’s no quick and lasting way to get rich doing this, but small steps consistently taken in the right direction will eventually get you there.

IQOption is Becoming a Favorite

General Risk Warning: The financial services provided by these websites carry a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all your funds. You should never invest money that you cannot afford to lose.

IQOption is one of the newer binary options brokers out there right now, but they have a lot of different features to offer clients. If you’re trying to find a new broker. or just curious about what IQOption has to offer, this brief overview is for you.

If you want to create an account with IQ Option, you can do so with as little as $10 or even open an IQ demo account. Their minimum trade amount is just $1, but if you want, you can fund your account with more and trade in larger increments. They offer more than 500 different assets, and a variety of different ways to trade them. They have the traditional call and put options. ranging down to 60 seconds before expiry. Because this broker is located in Europe, they have a heavy focus on European stocks and indices, but they also have a handful of the major assets that are based out of other regions in the world.

Be sure to get a strong feel of the platform to help avoid potential trade mistakes. This only makes sense whether you use the demo or not. If you have any questions, you can always contact their customer service department. As you grow as a trader you will realize how well the platform performs.

Also, by learning all the right ways to deposit and withdrawal money will help when it comes down to it. Getting all the important documents to them early will help make it a lot easier when it comes to taking money out.

IQOption does not accept traders from the United States, Canada, or Japan. They are regulated by CySEC, one of Europe’s largest regulatory financial bodies. If you are located in the EU, you should have no problems creating an account with this broker if that’s what you determine is best for your style of trade. However, outside of Europe, IQOption is not considered a regulated broker.

Nadex is the Perfect Broker for US Traders

Nadex is the only binary options provider that is completely regulated in the United States by the CFTC. This broker is based out of Chicago, Illinois, and they are one of the standard bearers in the world of binary options trading. Founded in 2004, and then rebranded in 2009 under their current name, Nadex is the go-to choice for binary traders based in the U.S.

In order to fund your Nadex account, you will need to make a minimum deposit of at least $250. You can use a debit card, bank transfer, paper check, or wire transfer to make your deposit. Depending on the trade you want to make and the profit levels that you are looking for, you can make trades for as little as $1 in some instances. Withdrawals are processed in the same way, except they do not currently allow debit card withdrawals.

Nadex offers free and unlimited use of their demo account . Most brokers limit the time that you are allowed to demo trade to about 3 days, but Nadex has a much stronger focus on the success of their traders. They want traders to succeed because when their traders succeed, they are also successful.

Are you interested in mobile trading? Read our Nadex Review. They offer for both iPhones and Android devices. This is beneficial to some traders, but not to all. If you want to be a successful binary options trader, you need to be able to have a strong ability to discern good decisions from bad ones. and oftentimes, the ability to make more trades isn’t necessarily a good thing. Nadex offers their clients tools geared toward helping them to make money, but you will need to make your own decisions about what is best for you and address the risk that is associated with trading on your own.

Although we have our top sites listed above we still have so many other brokers to choose from. Listed below are some other regulated brokers you can use. Some providers work with only certain customers. We will try to give you the leading countries for each broker based on the reviews we gathered.

List of 100 Non-Phone Work From Home Jobs

Work from home jobs

Work from home jobsThis page may contain affiliate links. Regardless, only products and services I trust are recommended.

Looking for work from home jobs that don’t involve the use of a phone? Many people are — most often because of the “no background noise” requirement most phone jobs come with. Kind of hard to abide by that when you have kids and/or pets running around during the day! Fortunately, you do have lots of options!

Below is a list of almost every non-phone work at home job I’ve reviewed here, with two links for each listing. One link will take you to the review of that company, and the other will take you directly to the page you need to sign up.

I’ve kept each summary brief, but made an effort to include who can apply, pay rate, and how and when these companies pay where that info is available.

P.S. – If you like this info, don’t forget to follow us on Facebook for more of it! You can also get home-based job leads sent to you weekly via email if you become a subscriber .

Non-Phone Work From Home Jobs

Data Entry

Work at home transferring data from one source to another. Most of these companies do not require past experience, although with few exceptions the pay may not be enough to consider it a stable income. Before you begin applying to any of the companies below (many of which sadly are almost never hiring), you might want to read the post I wrote about data entry jobs from home. It explains what your expectations should be prior to pursuing a career in this industry.

If you are a fast and accurate typist who doesn’t mind repetition, you might excel at data entry.

  • Amazon MTurk – Read Amazon Mechanical Turk Review – This is more short task work than an actual work from home job, and may be good for only extra money. Once you are signed in, you can search for “data entry” to see the data entry short tasks that might be posted.
  • Cass Information Systems – Data verification and data entry work. This position is location-based. If the position is open, you’ll see it under “Data Verification Clerk.” Training onsite is required before you can do the job from home.
  • Clickworker – Read Review – Very similar to Mturk (above). Has data entry sort tasks available on occasion.
  • Dion Data – Read Review – US only. Pay is per piece.
  • Great American Opportunities – Read Review – US only. Pay is per form completed, between .10 and .15 per form. Get paid weekly via direct deposit.
  • Konsus – Read Review – A newer company with lots of freelance positions, including data entry.
  • Red Vision – Keep tabs on their jobs page for a position called “order entry clerk.” It comes and goes, and it’s work at home data entry.
  • The Smart Crowd – Read Review – Open worldwide. Pay is per piece. Payments are made via Dwolla.
  • Smart Locating – Sometimes advertising data entry jobs at home on Craigslist. The listings typically say you need to be able to meet in-person first. This company operates from Texas, so you will likely need to be near one of their locations there so you can have a face-to-face interview.
  • Xerox – Read Review – It’s not uncommon to find data entry work from home jobs posted on Xerox. Type in “work from home data entry” on their careers page to see these listings. As with so many other data entry jobs, it may be location-based work.
  • I also recommend FlexJobs for finding more. You can regularly search legitimate work at home jobs for data entry and other industries. FlexJobs guarantees all their job leads to be scam-free, and it’s the only membership-based jobs site I currently use and trust. Their listings are updated 5-6 times per week, and there is no shortage of listings.

Transcription work from home jobs involve listening to audio files and typing out what you hear. Chat Work From Home Jobs

You’ve probably noticed that most companies nowadays offer ways to for their customers to contact them instantly via live chat support. Many of these chat support agents do work from home. Below is a list of the companies I’ve reviewed on this site that have occasion openings for work at home chat agents.

You might make a great chat agent if you’re a multi-tasking pro, very computer literate, have great customer service skills and/or past customer service experience, and you can type quickly.

    • Apple – Read Review – Open to US. Pay rate not listed, but it’s rumored to be in the teens.
    • Needle – Read Review – Open to US and possibly other countries. Note this company used to pay you in cash, but now they are points only, although you can redeem your points for Visa gift cards. Extra money only.

    • You can find more companies occasionally hiring work at home chat agents here .

    Short Tasks

Short tasks are often just extra money and rewards, but it’s something a lot of people do to fill in the gaps between other types of work from home jobs. The tasks available will vary from site to site.

    • Swagbucks – Read Review – Open to US, UK, and Canada. While this is just extra money or regular Amazon gift codes, there are tons of tasks you can do to earn daily — everything from paid surveys to watching videos. I’ve been a member since 2007 and can vouch for the company. They have paid me many times. It’s definitely a fun site to use.
    • Amazon mTurk – Read Review – Open worldwide, but you can’t get paid in cash unless you’re in the US — you have to opt for money in your Amazon account. Pay varies depending on the tasks you choose. Payments are made via bank transfer or you can get money to spend on Amazon instead.
    • Appen Butler Hill – Open worldwide. I have this site listed above under “search engine evaluation,” but I’m listing them here, too, because they also hire people as “crowd workers” to do short tasks.

    • Go here to see a list of more short task sites.

    Email Support Jobs

As you know, many people opt to contact companies via email rather than by chat or phone. Because of this, some companies do hire for work at home email support. These jobs are a little hard to find, I come across very few when I’m researching work at home job leads. You can read this blog post for everything I’ve been able to find about these jobs. The eBook, Earn $1,000 Per Month Answering Emails For Others. also has some interesting information from someone who created her own job doing this.

    Online Academic Tutoring

Another popular (mostly) non-phone job is online academic tutoring. This is often done via chat over the computer rather than by phone, but different companies will handle the communication in different ways, so you may want to double-check how you’re communicating with the students prior to applying.

You might make a great tutor if you’re patient, good at explaining academic concepts, friendly, and you have past experience tutoring/teaching.

    • Brainfuse – Read Review – Open to US, not sure about other countries. Pay is around $10 per tutoring session. Get paid every month via direct deposit.
    • PrepNow – Read Review – Open to US. Pays $15 or more per hour.

    • There are more companies that hire online tutors listed here .

    Academic Test Scoring

Another flexible non-phone option in the educational field is test scoring. There are a few reputable companies that do hire home-based workers to score everything from standardized tests to essays. Before you apply, you should know that ETS and Pearson (listed below) do require that you have certain qualifications and/or past teaching experience before they’ll let you become a scorer. WriteScore on the other hand requires just a two-year college degree.

    • ETS – Read Review – Open to US and occasionally other countries. Pay may be between $10 and $20 hourly depending on the project. Payments are made twice monthly.
    • Measurement, Inc. – Read Review – Open to US. Pay may be around $11 hourly.

    • There are a few more companies that hire remote test scorers here .

    Social Media Moderators & Managers

Social media managers and moderators are in charge of managing forums and social media platforms for businesses and/or people who need the help. You’ll be expected to do things like respond to comments, delete inappropriate comments, lock threads on forums when appropriate, etc.

You might be great at this if you know your way around social media networks and forums, have ever been in an admin position for either your own business pages/accounts or moderated for a forum, and you know how to be helpful and polite, but also firm when a situation calls for it.

    • Crisp Thinking – Read Review – Open to US and some other countries. May pay between $10 and $15 hourly for social media moderation work.

    • Go here for some more companies that hire work at home moderators, and here for an in-depth blog post about doing social media work from home.
    • You can also sign up for Social Media Management School. a very thorough eCourse that will teach you how to do this type of work and also provide training on setting up your own social media management business.

    Search Engine Evaluation

Most companies that hire for search engine evaluation have multiple projects available to work on, so the exact work you do might vary. However, search engine evaluation in the traditional sense involves analyzing queries that regular people like you and me might type into Google or Bing search and then determining the best possible results to match up to that query so that users have the best experience possible using a search engine.

You might excel at search engine evaluation if you’re great at internet research, up on pop culture, media, current trends, and you know your way around the computer. You do not necessarily need any past experience to do these jobs, but all of these companies will require you to complete a rather lengthy test prior to accepting you.

    • Appen Butler Hill – Read Review – Open worldwide. Pay will vary depending on the job you’re doing for Appen. Search engine evaluators may make around $13 – $15 hourly. They pay monthly via check or direct deposit.

    • You can go here for more listings and search engine evaluation resources .
    • To understand more about search engine evaluation and how it works, the eBook Make Money From Home a a Google Rater. is just .99 cents on Amazon with a four and a half star rating out of almost 70 customer reviews.

    Virtual Assisting

To avoid any confusion, I want to make it clear first that virtual assistant work is not always non-phone, but it can be. Virtual assistants tend to do a little bit of everything, just depending on their skills/expertise. So if you are good at various non-phone tasks (social media marketing/moderation, writing, graphic design, research etc.), then you may be able to do work for some of the companies below putting those non-phone skills to work. I also want to make clear that even when you do phone work as a virtual assistant, lots of times it can be arranged so you’re making the calls during times of day when it’s convenient for you.

Almost everyone has a skill or three they could put to work to earn money as a virtual assistant. The list of things potential clients might need done for them is endless — writing, graphic design, social media management, internet research, answering emails, etc.

    • Contemporary VA – Read Review – May be open worldwide. Pay is $10 hourly. Get paid every other week via mailed check.
    • eaHelp – Read Review – US only. Pay rate is not advertised.
    • Fancy Hands – Read Review – US only. Pay is per task and I’ve seen where some people claim they make anywhere from $2 to $10 an hour just depending on what tasks they choose. Pay is every other week on Tuesdays via Dwolla.
    • Time, Etc. – Read Review – US and UK only. Earn between $11 and $16 hourly. Get paid monthly with Paypal.
    • Worldwide 101 – Read Review – US and UK. Pays between $15 and $20 hourly. Get paid once a month by (I think) direct deposit.
    • Zirtual – Read Review – US only. May pay their VA’s between $12 and $13 hourly.
    • You can see more companies hiring remote virtual assistants here .
    • Resources I recommend for learning more about this industry include 21 Days to a VA Biz and The Bootstrap VA. Note that both of these books focus on starting your own virtual assisting business rather than working for a company (such as the ones above). For more in-depth training, you can enroll in the 30 Days or Less to Virtual Assistant Success eCourse. It will teach you exactly how to start your own VA business, what you need, what to charge, and also where to find clients.

    Translation

As a translator, you would be converting one language into another language via either spoken word, written word, or audio. This is a work from home job many people are able to do from that can additionally be very, very flexible and of course non-phone.

You can work from home giving your expert advice on various topics to people who need it. If you can prove your expertise in a certain field, then you may qualify to do this work, although for some it’s just extra money here and there. This is often non-phone because you may be able to give your advice via email or chat.

    • Ask Wonder – Read Review – Open worldwide. Get paid to create write-ups using your expertise and research skills.
    • Maven – Read Review – Open worldwide. You get to choose your rate. You must have at least $25 in your account to get paid, and you can choose from mailed check, bank transfer, or Paypal.
    • Just Answer – Read Review – Pay rate varies depending on how much a person is willing to pay for an answer. You can cash out your earnings to Paypal once you have $20 in your account.
    • Go here for more question/answer paid expert sites.

    Just Looking For Extra Cash?

Extra Cash & Rewards (my sister’s site) has a great list of sites that pay you fast. They’re only good for extra money, but they are reputable companies.

    Misc. Non-Phone Jobs

These are non-phone jobs that I don’t really have a category for.

    • Callsource – Read Review – This job involves listening to recorded phone conversations to ensure no missed opportunities for deals. The job is rarely ever listed on their site, but when it is, it’s under “Dealsaver Specialist.” May be open worldwide, although you must be fluent in English. Pay is per call, and you may average around $11 hourly.
    • Connect and Sell – Read Review – This job involves connecting calls, so you’re not actually having to talk to anyone. Pay is around $9 hourly. They may pay weekly via Paypal. Job is also very rarely open, but when it is, it’s listed under “Phone Administrative Support.”
    • Humanatic – Read Review – Similar to Callsource, this is another company that has you analyzing recorded phone conversations. Pays very little — so little in fact that most people just do this as a side egg. You can get paid once a week via Paypal.
    • Reynolds & Reynolds – Read Review – This is another company with occasional call analyst positions open. US only. Low pay — starting at around $7 or $8 hourly. You can get paid bi-weekly via direct deposit to your bank account.
    • Shutterstock – Read Review – May be open worldwide. This popular stock photo company has occasional openings for remote image reviewers, where you determine which submitted photos should make it onto the Shutterstock website. Pay and other details are under wraps — workers are required to sign an NDA, so it’s hard to find many details online.
    • Stitch Fix – Read Review – Open to US only, specific states. You can work for Stitch Fix as a work at home stylist, putting together clothing subscription boxes for their clients. Should be non-phone, paying around $15 hourly.

    What is Forex Trading

How can you benefit from exchange rate changes?

Exchange rates change all the time, and forex traders attempt to profit from these changes. Here’s a quick example:

Let’s say you travel abroad and you go to an exchange and use $500 to buy euros. After a week, you come back (without spending a single euro) and exchange your euros back to dollars – but you receive $505, because during the week, the exchange rate changed. This is a profit of 5 dollars, which you made by trading currencies.

Of course, nowadays you don’t need to leave the house to invest in the price of currencies – and you don’t even need to actually buy the currencies. Thanks to online forex trading anyone can invest in the price of different currencies from home – or even from their smartphone – and potentially profit from changes in price.

    Which Currencies Can You Trade?

There are many types of currencies that you can invest in with iFOREX – in fact, there are over 80 pairs to choose from. Let’s take a close look at some of your options.

The most traded currency pairs are called ‘majors’ and they compose about 85% of the entire foreign exchange market. Note that they all include the USD. These major pairs are:

(AKA ‘Crosses’) Currency pairs that do not include the US Dollar are commonly known as ‘cross currency pairs’. A few examples will be

Exotic currency pairs are made up of one major currency and a currency of an emerging economy. Examples would be

    Understanding Pips

Pip stands for P ercentage I n P oint. For most currency pairs, it corresponds to the movement of one unit of the fourth decimal digit in a rate, but there are exceptions like the Japanese Yen pairs, where a pip corresponds to the movement of one unit of the second decimal digit in a rate.

    Confused? Here’s a quick example:

If the EUR/USD moves from 1.1050 to 1.1051, this .0001 rise in value is one Pip.

    When Can You Trade Forex?

The forex market operates 24 hours a day and is commonly separated into four sessions: The Sydney session, the Tokyo session, the London session, and the New York session.

    Leverage Currency Trading

In the past, only large investors participated in currency trading, but nowadays anyone can trade currencies from home – and you don’t need to be rich to invest. Thanks to a unique tool called ‘leverage’ you can open large deals with a relatively small investment. For example, with a €100 investment, you can open a deal of up to €40,000, using leverage of 400:1.

    What is forex trading

This means that for every euro you invest, we give you up to €400 in trading power. And remember: Because of iFOREX's Negative Balance Protection you can never lose more than your initial investment – your account will never go into minus, regardless of the leverage you choose.

How to Open Your First Currency Deal

Are you ready to open your first currency deal? Great!
You can do so in three simple steps.

    1. Choose a currency
Let’s say you want to trade EUR/USD, for example. If the price of one euro is $1.1200, with a €100 investment, you could have bought $112, without leverage.
    2. Choose Your Deal Size
By using leverage you can open a deal worth up to 400 times your initial investment. For example, with a €100 investment, you can buy €40,000 worth of dollars, using 400:1 leverage.
      €100 X 400 = €40,000
    3. Choose Direction
When you trade currencies with iFOREX, you could profit even when you think prices will go down. In this example though, let’s assume you think the price will go up. Choose ‘Buy’. Now what?
    4. Close Your Deal and Collect the Profit
Let’s say the rate of the EUR/USD rose – meaning that the price of the euro increased by 0.01 – and you decide to close your deal.

This is a change of 0.01 for €40,000 deal, meaning a profit of $400 with a €100 investment.

    United States Binary Options Brokers

    US Traders

Binary options brokersIndeed, a distinction between regular traders and those living in the US ought to be made. Being in the second group means following certain rules of a rather restrictive character, even though binary options trading can, in fact, be used in all parts of the world. It is important to mention that together with Fair Binary Options, traders based in the US will finally get the access to best and fairest US brokers. The list of US brokers is not only based on the fact that these brokers enable US customers to trade binary options, but also on the quality of the services offered. What is important for every trader to know is that binary options trading is legal in the United States of America, despite what the rumors say. More info on this topic trading can be found in our article on legality of binary options .

    US Brokers

The difference between regular binary options brokers operating in Australia or Europe and those located in the US is the organization of the market. US traders, if they want to trade on regulated platforms must use binary options exchanges – like NADEX. This online exchange platform, although granting uninterrupted operations, is highly regulated. Also, higher fees and costs are to be expected, once again discouraging the small investors from taking part in binary options trading. Read our NADEX review .

All US trading platforms are regulated by Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and strict rules and laws apply. This lowers the liquidity of the trader, as it is quite usual for platforms to charge additional fees on every transaction. Luckily, there are more than enough brokers who provide binary options trading services for US traders outside the US market. These brokers are commonly known as offshore brokers. Read more about binary options regulations .

    European vs. US System

US binary options brokers that operate at a global level use the European system where the broker is also the liquidity provider. This makes the trading process much easier, interesting and not forget to mention, much more affordable, as they usually don’t charge fees on every transaction like some of the US platforms do. Things have changed quite a lot in the last few years and many binary brokers are applying for regulation in Europe, which means they will not be able to offer services to US traders. That is why it’s important for every trader to be well informed about latest news in binary options industry, as the situation with US brokers is often changing on the everyday basis. To stay well informed, make sure to follow our nbinary options news section, as well as the US brokers list that is regularly updated.

This is why we at Fair Binary Options knew it was important to highlight the remaining brokers accepting US customers. Even though we support all brokers listed in the table above, we strongly recommend reading all the reviews before making a final decision. Every broker is unique and offers unique trading experience, so it is important to choose a broker that is right for you. Find out more about differences between Nadex and traditional binary options brokers .

How to recognize a good US broker?

Binary options brokersCustomers are the best indication of whether or not a broker is indeed trustworthy. As long as customers are thrilled about trading with a certain platform, this enthusiasm will be visible in the level of profit. On the other hand, an unprofitable business will most likely disappear from the market once traders will not require its services. However, this is not always a smooth transition and many traders may not be aware that the broker they are registering with is does not provide a good service. This is why Fair Binary Options inspected brokers accepting US customers to present them to our readers. Every year we reward the best US broker with Fair Binary Options Award, to give traders additional feeling of safety while choosing the broker and placing trades. More advice on how to find a good broker read here .

    US Brokers Reviews

Fair Binary Options is here to adequately clarify the matter and to properly inform traders of available choices in terms of US brokers. Traders may count on this website as it will point them in the right direction, providing detailed information that is adequately structured and organized in tables and charts, as well as with complete, adequately researched reviews. Surely, after gathering all the necessary details from Fair Binary Options, they will be able to make a solid decision with regards to a trustworthy reliable US broker.

    Forex trading course

You could teach yourself to trade using many online resources – drawback here is that it will take time, you will loose money, eventually loose interest and walk away from it.

You could make use of several training seminars and platforms where they give you some knowledge, always not all of the knowledge ( they want more of your hard-earned money first ) – drawback here is that it is in the actual putting together of this knowledge that will cost you time and money.

Johan will teach you a well researched, all-in-one strategy where you do not have to “pay-more-then-I-give-you-more” ( ask Johan about this research, you will be amazed )

I was and still am also pleasantly surprised by how Johan has revived the phrase “support afterwards”. Ask questions and get answers with explanations.

    Thank you Johan.

Just a note to express my satisfaction with the training and on-going support you are providing me with.

The training course was well constructed and made very clear to a novice who has never traded before.

Your commitment to helping your students after the training could serve as a benchmark for the industry.

You have a thorough and in-depth knowledge of your subject which you convey in a very understandable manner.

I am convinced that the money I have spend on the training is money well spent.

Please keep up the good work.

    Karenpark, Akasia, Gauteng

I came through your course two months ago.

I loved it, and your method is effective.

    90% profit in 2 days!

    (One week after training)

My progress has a lot to do with your great methods and the confidence that your training instilled in me.

    Good morning Johan.

I’ve been trading in the past 2 to 3 weeks and have just started with the real money last week. So far I’ve managed to retain my capital and making little profits in both accounts (Demo and Real).

I’m confident that soon I’ll be stable and consistent in applying your trading methods very well. I find setting ‘stop losses(sl)’ and sometimes ‘taking profits(tp)’ lines very helpful soon after getting into a trade. I set my targets and limits for each trade and try to stick to them without getting too greedy and emotional. My only weakness at the moment is getting into trades late and getting out tool late but I’m busy working on it.

Once again, thank you very much. I’ve played around and I’m now convinced that the methods you taught me are without any doubt spot on. From now on my focus will be on growing my ‘real money’ account.

    Dear Mr Johan van As

I hereby wish to thank you for the excellent training course you presented to me in December 2011.

I have been able to double my account size every month since I started with the trading 3 months ago.

    Thank you very, very much.

I just want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your time and effort to pass the knowledge of trading forex successfully and with accuracy during my training with you.

For once, I understand why I place trades unlike before when I traded blindly. And just like you pointed out, now I can know what the market will do with a higher level of probability (even though this is still subject to other factors out of human control).

I have been demo trading from the 1st of November 2011 and have executed 38 trades, and 26 have been successful out of these trades. I must admit I broke some of the rules in some of those losses. Greed and fear of a loss being the main reason.

I am convinced beyond doubt that with your strategy and sticking to the rules I can make this a professional job and quit my daytime job. I am going live in January 2012 and I am confident now in myself more than ever before. I think anyone (Novice or Professional) should take your course. it will mark an unbelievable turning point in their lives; like it did for me.

Thank you and God bless you and your family.

Please feel free to use this as a recommendation for your training course.

    With my best regards,

I really found your forex trading course most informative and helpful. What you taught me forms the basis of my trading now. Without your training, I would never have been able to trade with the success that I have had. What is more is the support which you have given me after the course: you have always taken the time to listen or explain to me, once I started trading on my own. That is worth a lot and therefore makes your course superior in value when compared to other courses offered which charge considerably more and give considerably less.

Your system really works. What I have found is that when I depart from your trading system, I have bad results. However, as soon as I go back to what you taught me, I find I have a much greater probability for success. Trading is difficult (something you continually reminded me of), but your course has given me the edge that I need to succeed as a trader.

Please feel free to use this letter as a recommendation to others considering your FX Masters course.

    Thanks once again Johan,

    Binary Options Mobile Trading

    Read Review

As mentioned earlier, binary options mobile trading allows you to access a broker’s site by using your smart phone, tablet or even your laptop. Actually, all you need is to download a simple mobile app from your phone’s app vendor and you are good to go. Mobile trading always comes in handy when you don’t have access to your desktop or if you only have access to a metered connection. You only have to download and install a mobile app of a broker in question. Unfortunately, most brokers only develop mobile applications compatible with android and IOS devices. But some offer something even better – responsive mobile sites. If you have a smart phone running on Windows or Blackberry operating systems, you can always access the trading platform through your mobile browser.

    Steps To Follow

    • Register with a Binary Options Broker – Binary options trading is not achieved in a vacuum environment. You need to access a mobile trading platform to place your trade. A binary options broker is just a company offering a trading platform over which to trade financial markets. Fortunately, there are dozens of binary options brokers in existence today and more keep mushrooming every now and then. However, you should take your time to analyze a broker before committing financially to avoid registering with a scam broker (Trust me; there are lots of scam brokers).
    • Place a Deposit – Unless in special circumstances like when brokers offer no-deposit bonuses, most brokers require you to make a deposit at or above the minimum deposit requirement to be granted access to the trading platform. That’s why it’s advisable always to check the deposit requirements before submitting the registration details to avoid inconveniences in the foreseeable future. You can make a deposit using one of the banking options offered by the broker.
    • Download the Mobile App – To enjoy mobile trading, it goes without saying you have to download and install the app. Most brokers have download instructions on their websites but all you have to do is search for the app in your app market place like Google Play or Apple Store. You can then enjoy unlimited trading, round the clock, by using your smart phone. In order to trade, you only need to select the underlying asset, trading option and the expiry duration, just set the investment amount you want to invest. In addition, you have to predict the most probable direction of the price’s movement with reference to the prevailing market price, also known as the strike price. The outcome is determined by comparing the expiry price and the strike price to your initial predictions.

Some binary options mobile apps usually have a common downside where some have been designed to give you selective access to the trading platform. With some mobile apps, you can’t access some trading tools and hence making it hard to effectively manage your open trading positions.

    Last Words

Trading binary options is interesting and profitable to say the least, but it comes with a high risk level. That being said, it’s vital to implement sound profit and risk management techniques in order to make it successfully in binary options trading online.

How Chords Work: A Crash Course

    Work from home chords

    How Chords Work

People who play music are often analytical by nature. You’ve probably scrutinized recordings of music you wanted to learn, figuring out what tempo to take or how to smooth out the transition between the bridge and the chorus. Or maybe, at some point, you’ve had the urge to learn about the mechanics of your instrument—what exactly happens when your fingers hit the keys, or when your breath goes through the mouthpiece.

(Make Sure You Check Out These Piano Exercises To Make Your Hands Stronger)

But some things in music are a little more difficult to explain in words. When you hear music that grabs you emotionally, it’s not so easy to put your finger on why you react to it. Though it may be hard to describe exactly why music has the power that it does, the ability to analyze chords helps to unravel the mystery. That’s because chords and chord progressions have a great deal to do with the character of music. Chord analysis, also known as “harmonic analysis,” is where the logical and emotional sides of music come together.

When it comes to chords, three is a magic number. Since the 16th century, triads—groups of three different notes that are each a third apart—have been the most common harmonies found in Western music, both classical and popular. So, it’s important to be able to recognize triads in order to understand how and why chords work together the way they do. Before you can recognize triads in your music, you first need to know how they are built.

To form a major triad, start with any one pitch, the root, and add the note a major third (four half-steps) above. Then, add the note a minor third (three half-steps) above that. For example, a C major triad includes the notes C, E, and G.

The opposite order of intervals is used to form a minor triad: above the root is a minor third interval, and a major third “stacks” on top to complete the triad. So, the notes in a C minor triad are C, Eb, and G.

(Making Sense of Metric Modulations So You Can Play Better)

Notice that with both major and minor triads, the root note and the top note are always a perfect fifth (seven half-steps) apart. Whether the triad is major or minor all depends on the middle pitch.

Diminished triads use only minor third intervals, making the notes in a C diminished triad C, Eb, and Gb. Augmented triads, on the other hand, use only major third intervals. C, E, and G# make up a C augmented triad.

If you’ve played from lead sheets before, you’ve probably seen labels such as “C maj” or “CM” to indicate a C major chord. But while these types of symbols tell you what notes to play, they tell you nothing about the function of the chord. The thing is, chords have a chameleon-like nature: a C major triad that appears in a song in the key of C major acts differently, and has a different purpose, from a C major triad that appears in a song in the key of F major.

For this reason, when analyzing chords, it’s more helpful to use the Roman numeral labeling system. With this system, the chord is labeled with the Roman numeral that corresponds to the scale degree of the root note. So, in the key of C major, an F major triad is called a IV chord because F is the fourth scale degree, or the fourth note, in the C major scale. In the key of D major, the G major triad is the IV chord, and so on.

(Our Essential Italian Dictionary Guide That Is A Must For Any Musicians)

Major triads are represented by uppercase Roman numerals (e.g. VI), while minor triads are represented by lowercase Roman numerals (e.g. vi). A diminished triad is shown with a lowercase Roman numeral and a superscript circle (º) next to it. An augmented triad is notated with an uppercase Roman numeral followed by a superscript plus sign ( + ).

In any major key, the triads you are most likely to find are: I, ii, iii, IV, V, vi, and viiº. In a minor key, the most common triads are: i, iiº, III +. iv, V, VI, and viiº. Below, these triads are shown in the keys of C major and A minor.

    Work from home chords

In both major and minor keys, I (or i) and V chords sound the most stable to our ears. This explains why many songs and pieces end with a V chord followed by a I (i) chord: this chord change makes the music sound final and resolved.

One more thing to keep in mind with triads is that the notes don’t always stack up in the “right” order. When the root note is on the bottom and the thirds are stacked above it, this is called “root position.” However, if the same notes appear in a different order, and even in different octaves, this is called an “inversion.”

In the examples below, you’ll find that, although each chord looks different, they are all made up of the same notes—C, E, and G—so if you were to label these chords in a harmonic analysis, you would use the same Roman numeral for each. (There are superscripts that can be used to distinguish inversions, but for now, stick to the basic Roman numerals.)

Now, to get to the root of things (no pun intended!) and discover why we bother labeling chords, follow this harmonic analysis of the triads found in Pachelbel’s Canon in D major. Note: the chords have all been arranged in root position here.

    Work from home chords

Many people put this famous canon at the top of their lists of favorite classical pieces and its chord progression is also found in countless popular songs. So what makes Pachelbel’s progression work so well?

Harmonic analysis reveals the fact that chords create the same pattern that you would find in any good story: an introduction, a conflict, and a resolution. The strong and stable I and V chords introduce the key as D major. The minor chords that follow, vi and iii, are weaker to our ears, so they present the “conflict.” This tension begins to ease with the appearance of the more stable IV chord, and all conflict is then resolved when the V chord leads back to the final I chord.

The next time a song or piece catches your attention, get your hands on the sheet music and take a look at the chord progressions. Do you notice any patterns, such as where certain chords tend to lead, or what types of chord changes trigger your emotions? You’ll find that a little curiosity goes a long way in discovering the reasons behind music’s expressive powers.
